Free Kittens

So the husband is officially allergic to the kittens. So we have to get rid of the little darlings. If you live anywhere in Southern NJ and you are interested in these little sweeties give me a comment. They are really sweet kittens and they love playing with each other and cuddling. They also are getting thier shots and spayed this weekend, so that would be at no charge. They would come with whatever kittie litter and kitten food I have as well as our toys.

There is so much more I want to see.

Happy Birthday Tamara

Today is Tamara's birthday, if you've never heard of this "Tamara" she is my best friend (I'm one of the lucky ones to have two of them). Tamara and I have been best friends since about 5th grade. I won a chemistry kit for selling magazines and being the scientific mastermind that I am, I used the chemicals to turn my moms clam chowder purple. Mind you I have no clue how I did this and it certainly wasn't on purpose. At the time I thought it was an astonishing breakthrough in the realm of chemistry, so I took my act on the road. I went over to my friends house and showed them, they told me of a family that lived a little further down the road that may appreciate it. That family was "home-schooled", the first of many "home-schoolers" I was to meet. Well I marched right up to their house and came in and turned my clam chowder purple and somehow got myself a best friend to boot. Tamara and I became inseperable through out most of our adolescense and I basically came to live at her house. Her family would take me to church with them and considered me to be a part of them, even allowing me to be at the hospital for the birth of Tamara's little sister Lydia. Well Tamara and I both moved out and her parents have since moved but we have remained best friends. Tamara is one of those friends that you can go to and tell anything. She knows my deep dark secrets and I know hers. She is quite possibly one of the most kind and talented people I know and I count myself very blessed to call her a friend.
So happy birthday Tamara! Love ya!!!

Memorial Day

Here is a link to a news story from our Memorial Day Service at church, ABC Local
The choir did a wonderful job thanking all the service men and women; of course there is no way to truly thank them as they deserve but at least we can try.

Blogosphere Bookclub

Hey Guys,
Was thinking this morning while reading Trace that we should have a blogosphere book club. I used to have a real life one with MamaK but we just live too darn far to really be able to do it. Let me know if you are up for it and we can do it bi-weekly or monthly whichever works best for everyone.
This could be fun :)

Fun Contest

So 5 Minutes for Mom has another fun contest!!! This one is for this adorable tutu

Everytime I see it I can just picture Gracie, Hannah or even my baby niece Meggie twirling around in it! So cute!!!

Wow My 300th Post!!

Holy Cow!!!
I just wanted to share some pictures of Hannah cuteness. She came over to see the kittens and was all about the kittie carrier. She spent most of the time standing next to it telling the kittens to get in, it was so cute. Then well I think she got frustrated that the kitties weren't listenning so she decided to lead by example. As you can see she had to be taken out, she wanted to stay in and play :) She is too funny!! What a cutie!!!

Yes I have it this good...

the naked chef
I was on my way home from work on Wednesday and stopped for gas, when I tried to start my car back up again it wouldn't. Nothing. I called Schmoop's father and thankfully he came to give me a jump start. Well I ended up getting home about the same time as Schmoop and I was tired. So my Schmoop made dinner, cleaned the kitchen and did the laundry. Not only did he make dinner but he made a really good meal all from Scratch, no mixes for this family!

The end result, chicken and rice with onions, peppers, corn, diced tomatoes, sour cream and cheddar cheese, YUM!

He was wearing pants this is just proof :)

Weekend Goodness

So this weekend was a good one, Friday we went to bed at 6pm. Yes, you read that right, 6pm. Needless to say I was beat!!! Last week I wasn't feeling well and went to the doctor and was put on an antibiotic and it and being sick knocked me out!!!! So anyway we woke up early and had our first yard sale of all time, we earned... (insert drumroll here).... $32 dollars. Yeah, we felt the same way, it was very anticlimactic. BUT afterwards we went to Mama K's house where Schmoop, myself, Mama K and Papa K all went out to Smitty's (an awesome clam bar down the shore) for some amazing food. Mama K was peanutless thanks to her mother so she was very up for going on the boardwalk (without a STROLLER!!!) unfortunately it started raining just as we got up on the boards. We had just enough time to get some Kohr's brother ice cream and some Johnson's Popcorn (my addiction and jokingly the reason why Mama K says I come to visit). We headed back to Mama K's house and hung around for a little bit, it was nice to see her without having to plan anything(wedding, baby shower, etc).
This morning we woke up late, went out to breakfast and then went shopping. We got one of those inflatapools that you inflate that one ring around the top and fill up with water. We also got some orange air freshener which I have read you are supposed to spray on things you don't want your cats to touch, I went a little crazy and our house smells like a freshly peeled orange (like a 4 ton freshly squeezed orange). The kittens are walking around scrunching up their noses and sticking mostly to the laundry room so I think in small doses this does work.
We are rocking some BBQ for dinner as we watch our pool fill up.
I also joined a contest at 5 Minutes for Mom for a years supply of bandaids (if you know schmoop and I you know we could use them). Check it out!!!

We're as American as meatloaf and Apple Pie

Well at least thats what I made my hubby last night for dinner.
Then this morning the hot water heater went down and my sweetie found out by taking a very cold shower. Thankfully we have a home shield warranty so a new hot water heater will only cost us $90 as opposed to $800 for installation and removal of our other one. I love the warranty if our washer or dryer goes down or any appliances we only have to pay $55 bucks and they'll fix it.
So Schmoop is home getting us some hot water!

We're Done!

So we've been married 5 days short of two months and we have our thank you notes done for the wedding! Our friends and family have always been so generous to us so we wanted to make sure they knew how much we appreciated it! I'm so happy that we have FINALLY FINISHED THEM! It was such a daunting task, there were about 100 cards we had to write!!

That was close...

So in looking over my posts from the last couple of days, I realized something.
I'm so happy that Schmoop and I got married, for the obvious reason that I love him dearly and he is the best man in the whole world! Also though because I was soooooo close to being the "cat" lady.
So whats everyone up to this weekend?
I am going to a benefit dinner at church tonight for the Youth Group Missions Trip.
Tomorrow I need to get some Thank you cards done and sent out, take Schmoops mom, gram and SIL out for mothers day.
Sunday we are taking my mom out for mothers day.
Thats it, what are you up to?!

Collective AWE!!!

So Schmoop and I talked it over and he told me I could have a kitten, my brother and his wife found 4 adorable kittens on the side of the road. They already have 6 cats so they can't really take any more in so they've been looking for homes for the momma and the four kittens. Well I went over there and they were so cute! I asked schmoop if we could "foster with the option to adopt" another kitten so we now have two cute kittens running around our house.
Let me introduce
Juan Pablo Montoya, we call him Pablo

and Gizmo

both of our babies together

Miss Olivia

Man I loved that kitten, here is a picture of her dressed up for our wedding. She looked evil in this picture didn't she?!
Jason found this on his camera recently.

There might possibly be a new edition to the family...

A sweet little kitten that my brother Wil found on the side of the road. Someone abandoned 4 kittens and there mom on the side of the road and my brother and his wife found them and rescued them. Of course I petitioned Schmoop to see if he would be ok with another kitty in the house and he relented. So I'm looking for names, my old kittie was named Miss Olivia. If this one is a male, Schmoop would like to call it Juan Pablo Montoya. What are your ideas?!
Also my brother should do work for animal shelters, doesn't this kitten look so sad like you should bring it home immediately!!!!

I've been tagged!

Trace tagged me. Here are the rules

1. Each player starts with eight random facts/habits about themselves.
2. People who are tagged need to write their own blog about their eight things and post these rules.
3. At the end of your blog, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names.
4. Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged, and to read your blog.

Facts:
1. I love to cook but I don't like cheater recipe's (ones that call for mixes or ask you to use pre-prepared food and to doctor it up). I like the ones that take like 3-4 hours :)

2. I love cookbooks and I have a ton, I will pick one up like a book and read through to get ideas.

3. I eat ice cream at least once a day

4. I have insane ADD I will start something then two minutes later I will work on something else entirely and forget about my first project, this drives Schmoop crazy!!!

5. I always forget that I'm doing laundry so I'll leave clothes in the washing machine for a couple days (weeks).

6. I can fall asleep anywhere doing anything so much so that Schmoop has nicknamed me the Narcolepter.

7. I buy things for people and then forget about them/or lose the presents. Right now I have part of my best friends Christmas present lying in my backseat unwrapped underneath an air pump and its fragile.

8. The safest place in the world to me is in my husbands arms.

Ok now I have to tag 8 people, hmmmm I got 4..

Update on Tackle It Tuesday

Sooo I got home and finished the living room and also made my husband a wonderful meal.

I made roasted potatoes, boneless pork, and asparagus
I took red potatoes and cut them into about 1" pieces, drizzled olive oil over them, and then used my spices very liberally (paprika, cayenne pepper, black pepper, garlic salt, onion powder, italian seasoning, etc)
The pork I just dusted with black pepper and Ono seas.oning (a seasoning I got in Hawaii).

For dessert just some fruit with whipped cream on top.

As far as the house, here is the before pic on the living room

and after the addition of a new sectional sofa (thanks Kim!!) and some serious cleaning.

as far as for the dining room here is our old dining room set, which was functional (and free! Thanks Don and Josie!!!) but not really our style.

and here is our new one(Thanks Aunt Sara!), so nice!! Don't mind the stuff on the table, I haven't organized that room yet!!
