Good Grief!!!

So In case it hasn't been apparent I'm not exactly the most organized person in the world. Well this morning while rushing into work, I basically passed about 5 people to get to the turning lane. To my suprise this is illegal! Who knew??? A cop pulled me over after I had made my turn and was halfway down the road. Now I have a little card that should help me in these situations should one remember to pull it out, but I NEVER DO!!! So the cop pulled me over and asked me for my liscense, registration and insurance; once again, is this needed?? APPARENTLY IT IS!! So I have my liscense but no registration (schmoops got mine from when he borrowed my car) and no insurance (who knows where it is). Let me break this down for you.
I basically passed 5 people illegally while talking on the phone
then I didnt have my registration
I didn't have my insurance
oh yeah and every piece of documentation has a different address on it since I've moved so much lately.
Then I got a ticket for guess what??
not wearing a seatbelt...
The Dirkey always wears her seatbelts but will gladly eat that ticket rather than get my car impounded!!!
GOOD GRIEF.
So tonight, I'm cleaning out my car and organizing it.

Blogging for Life

Hi out there, I've been reading alot of my blogs tonight and found out today is Blogging for Choice and I decided to Blog for Life. I'm very pro-life, I was born and raised into a Catholic Family of six kids, so its probably not such a shock to most. I have always enjoyed being around kids, I find that women look the most bueatiful when "with child" and every time I see a newborn baby I honestly believe it is the most amazing thing I've ever seen in my life. Today I just want to share with you the most amazing story of life that I know of.
I have an older sister Karen, and growing up I was always told that Karen couldn't have kids. She is 14 years older than me and when I was younger she always took care of me. She used to have me do weekends down at her house and I would have a blast with her and her husband. I remember her spoiling me when it came to Christmas and just waiting for her to notice if I had my hair a certain way or a new outfit. When I got older and my nieces and nephews came into the picture she treated them the same way, like they were her children. She was a great sister and an amazing aunt but I knew that she always wanted her own child. She and her husband started doing invitro-fertilization a few years back, and she got pregnant with twins. When she told me about it I was so scared I was going to lose her, but also so incredibly excited about having twin neices/nephews. I immediately put her on the prayer list at church and I prayed like crazy for my sister and her little babies. She ended up losing the one twin early and I was devistated, I really thought that everything would be ok and that she would be able to have both kids. I just kept praying for her, there were soo many people praying for them. The months wore on and she got big. Finally on Thanksgiving we got a call that she was going in the hospital, Karen was due around Valentines Day. The week went by so slowly waiting to see what would happen. On December 3rd my sister had a c-section and delivered a little boy. Mason was born 2lbs 2 oz's and went directly into the neo-natal intensive care unit. I went down that night but wasn't able to see him, the next time I went to visit I finally got to see my nephew Mason. It was the most amazing sight I've ever seen in my life. I remember being so amazed as I left that I couldn't help crying. Mason was so tiny he didn't even look real. When he moved his hands or his head I just couldn't even believe he was a real baby. He had a tough time in the hospital, it was touch and go for awhile and there was one point where he flat lined. Eventually around his intended due date he came home with a heart monitor. I got to hold him for the first time when he was home and it was amazing. He was such a tiny infant but he had such an old soul. Mason grew strong and is a crazy 4 year old now who loves Karate, swords, Jason, and his Gracie; I couldn't imagine my life without my little Godson.
I'm not here to judge or to look down on anyone, I just pray for anyone who is in the position that they have to make a choice. There are so many options and so many people who can't have a child who would love yours if you'll let them.

Best Job in the WHOLE WORLD

So last week my boss asked me if my passport is valid, it was so I told him it was. This week he asked me if I was available to go on a cruise that we are promoting. Granted I'll have to work for alot of the time, but hey working in the Western Carribean is better than working in NJ in February right!! So I leave in three weeks to go to Costa Maya, Bahamas and the Grand Cayman. Dirkey might just get her a little wedding color!!
Did I mention how good my life is? I'm a pretty happy Dirkey!!

Its that time again

Time to update the blog roll
and today I'm adding El Guapo because he says stuff like this

Miguel and I often discuss the potential superpowers of biblical characters

I've been tagged again....

0) What’s your name and website URL? (optional, of course)
My real name is Kristi.
www.dirkey.blogspot.com
www.mcdirkey.com-will start soon just learning some HTML

1) What’s the most fun work you’ve ever done, and why? (two sentences max) I really love my job right now its basically where I've always wanted to work so its neat working there finally.

2) A. Name one thing you did in the past that you no longer do but wish you did? (one sentence max) I wish I could go on the missions trip with the youth kids this year but I can't.. :(
B. Name one thing you’ve always wanted to do but keep putting it off? (one sentence max) If I was still at my old job I would say quit but I actually like where I am. I usually kind of do whatever is reasonable that I want to do.

3) A. What two things would you most like to learn or be better at, and why? (two sentences max)
1. I would like to be better at budgeting my time
2. I want to run a more organized household.

B. If you could take a class/workshop/apprentice from anyone in the world living or dead, who would it be and what would you hope to learn? (two more sentences, max) Does Jesus count? If not probably Martha Stewart or Rachel Ray.

4) A. What three words might your best friends or family use to describe you? (stated by Schmoop) silly, sweet and impulsive
B. Now list two more words you wish described you… organized and debt free (soon except for the mortgage)

5) What are your top three passions? (can be current or past, work, hobbies, or causes– three sentences max) cooking, creating and learning. I really like creating whatever I can and learning basically whatever I can so I can't be more specific on that.

6) Write–and answer–one more question that YOU would ask someone (with answer in three sentences max) I would ask Eva Longoria why she would wear that? (see below). I have no clue.

Is it just me

or is this not the best look for Renee?
This is why they don't tell you "Suck on a lemon" when you get your portrait taken.
Say it with me "Cheese" not just the best food ever but makes your face look much nicer than this..

and as far as Eva Longoria, I don't understand how a DRESS can give you a weggie..

If one were to hypothetically be looking for something to wear to a star trek convention

this would be funny...

Back to the Land of the Living

and feeling much better!!! I've been so sick of eating Saltines and Ginger Ale that I went to Produce Junction and spent 30 bucks. People I'm only cooking for Schmoop and me 30 Dollars on Fruits and Veggies!?!?!?! I know, I'm nuts!! But everything looked soo good when I went there so I went to town. Last night I made a wonderful meal for us, tasted soo good. It was just peppers, mushrooms, onions, lemon, lime, olive oil, diced tomatoes, garlic, ground beef and white whine sauteed for about 40 minutes and then put that over brown rice. It tasted sooo good though!!
Tonight, I'm making some curry thing with lots of veggies :) (go figure right!!)

Is this what a tapeworm is like?!

Cause if so I change my mind I don't want one. My sister in law and I always say that a tapeworm would be the best weight loss program ever. Seriously, you could eat whatever you want and the tapeworm does all the work. Well I guess you picked it up but last night I got sick AGAIN... Ridiculously sick. I'm guessing this is just the stomach virus that everyone else is getting, I just don't understand why its coming and going.. grrrr.
Well easy way to lose weight..

Hello

Peaking out from the corner of the blanket I've been hiding under for the past two days to say hi. My mom told me their is a stomach virus going around, I haven't felt that bad in a LONG TIME. I literally don't remember most of yesterday, I do remember waking up last night in the bathroom with a towel for my pillow. This afternoon I forced myself up, took a shower, watched my bare mineral video and applied some makeup. I went over to a weight watchers meeting by my house this evening to find out that I lost a little over five pounds this week. I think three of those pounds were lost yesterday. I will go to work tomorrow and I will feel better now!!
Hope none of you catch it!!

umm yeah by the way

Dread Dread Dread

So when Schmoop and I got our house, I had all these plans about what we want to do wtih it. I heard numerous times just wait till you start painting that will all change. Well we've painted two rooms (primer and two coats) and I like painting.. Granted, I'm not too good at it, but I like it. Its kind of fun getting paint all over your clothes and completely changing a place to make it your own. As I paint I imagine where I want my furniture to go and what color curtains. The painting itself I don't mind at all.
Cleaning out the paint brushes, now thats a different story. With my pruny hands I'm typing that cleaning paint brushes sucks butt..

Wedding update, invitations are all written out. I am waiting on the Hugs and Kisses stamps to come out from the post office. If you're a new reader, Schmoop and I had our first date at Hershey Park and got engaged there. Our favors are Hershey Bars with our information on them and now the stamps have a little flavor to them as well :)

So you are all dying to know...

I started weight watchers last week and was very good till Saturday. My brother took schmoop and I out to a very nice Spanish restaurant up in Newark (the only good thing about Newark according to my brother is this restaurant). Well my brother insisted on appetizers, main course, dessert and drinks; and I think I did decent that day. Then Sunday came along and I had my sister and her family, my two brothers and thier families, my other sister, my parents, and Schmoop's dad over; we had 13 guests in our house. I made two roasts in two slow cookers (thanks to my future MIL for my spare crock pots) and did fairly well with lunch, except I made a cake for my brothers birthday and I had a slice of that and some dump cake. After that Schmoop and I cleaned and headed over to my brothers house for a new years party and I grubbed. They had that spinach dip with the pumpernickle bread, I love that stuff. Then they had water chestnuts wrapped in bacon and covered in bbq sauce, soo good. Since then I wasn't paying too much attention to my points but I have been making an effort to be more active and eat better. Well I went to the meeting yesterday and I lost two.. Whew!! Now I know that this week isn't the poster week of model WW behaviour but I'm happy I lost. I'm excited to be good and on track this week too now that the holidays are all behind me!
Also I picked up my wedding dress with Mama K and Lisa on Tuesday, I love it. It was sooo cool to have the whole package together, wedding dress, shoes, veil, tiara, jewelry; its like its really happening now. :) Yesterday we got some engagement pics done and we also picked up our unity candle. Have to get our cake topper still and address invitations soon! Other than that things are going great! We tied all the ribbons on the bubbles the other day, got all the bridesmaids jewelry and gifts, going to pick up stamps today. They have Hershey kiss stamps out this year!!! I'm so happy that even the stamps fit our little theme!!!
